How many times does it have to be repeated, CL participation means nothing.
If a player were to choose between say Liverpool offering him £100k/w and United with £120k/w, vast majority would've picked the latter.

Of course it means something maybe not to all players but too all the top class ones that are already on decent contracts earning 100k+ a week they all want CL football.

This. Although money does matter a lot too...

If I was a player choosing between Liverpool and Man United with the same wage offer, im sure 50%+ would still choose Man United. 1 season in the champions league for Liverpool and 1 season out of the champions league for Man U isn't a big problem as long as it's only 1 season. Man United pay a ridiculous amount of wages though, I think only Man City and maybe Chelsea could compete with them in wage contracts.

It doesnt matter. Club status aka Man U will be in champions league next yearand they will do anything for it. Hell, even build a team. If they can be a part of that for more money they will. Don't act all stupid and be like champions league is priority. Because then Suarez should have been gone 2 years ago.
