Hosts are rarely successful in tournaments, show me where I said a host team was? I just said Germany were hosts in 06..
So a penalty was called in the Australia game, who would of known what way that would of gone in extra time + penalty kicks.
Not sure when italy hosted a world cup, I think* 1990, and they finished third, but it was before my time, so I cannot comment on this.

Germany doesn't outnumber anybody in this forum. Ever seen a "[German match] discussion"-thread in here? for sure not, because we got our own football topic. Hence there's hardly any German active in here.
But for sure if you provide a link in the German forum in order to make people vote there the result will be "German". Doesn't mean you should spread false rumours anyway.
