Milan and Manchester United are in talks about playing 6-8 friendlies next season, seeing as both clubs won't be playing in Europe.

The Milan-Man. United matches could take place in the UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Africa (northern part) and USA’s east coast.

Van Gaal and Pep had almost identical 1st seasons with Bayern.  Both won double, although Van Gaal went to UCL final (lost) and Pep UCL semifinal (lost).  Interesting to see what happens next year.

Van Gaal said he wanted to sign Vidal when he was at Bayer.  Hopefully he tells the board to spend anything to get him.  And before people bring up the Europe thing, Juventus of late are not relevant in the UCL and havent been for 10+ years.

Manchester United have made an enquiry over the availability of Barcelona left-back Jordi Alba.

Spanish newspaper AS are reporting the bid and if true throws the protracted deal for Luke Shaw into doubt.

The Red Devils were widely tipped to be set for a £27m agreement for the Southampton starlet but that may now no longer be the case.

The club are apparently aware that it will be extremely difficult to prise the Spanish international away from the Nou Camp, but are keeping their options open.

England full-back Luke Shaw told Southampton on the final day of the Premier League season that he wanted to join Manchester United.

The 18-year-old defender spoke to the Saints hierarchy at an event held at a hotel following the 1-1 home draw with United on 11 May.

By that time, United had already made a £27m offer for the left-back.

Southampton will not consider allowing any more of their players to leave until a new manager is appointed.

England striker Rickie Lambert has already been sold to Liverpool, while club captain Adam Lallana has been the subject of multiple bids from the Anfield club.

Saints hope to appoint a successor to manager Mauricio Pochettino, who joined Tottenham in late May, within the next 10 days, with former Dutch international Ronald Koeman a leading candidate for the post.

Shaw, though, has made his intentions clear.

The youngster had been asked to clarify his future quickly, with England manager Roy Hodgson making it clear he wanted squad members to sort out proposed transfers before the World Cup begins on 12 June.

Southampton, however, will only sell if the circumstances are right.
