Personally I'm not having any trouble defending, except for two problems:

My first problem is that sometimes the game won't select the player I want to control. I often want my midfielders to run back, but it sometimes keeps selecting my defenders even if my midfielder is next to the opposing player, no matter how many times I tap L1.

And my second one, which usually happens after the ball is cleared or hits the post and one of my defenders picks it up, is that my defender (with the ball) becomes bugged and won't move. I try to make him run to initiate the counter attack, but he stays in place and the only thing I can do is pass or shoot. Usually by the time I realize that he's bugged and can't move, I already have an opponent on me, and that often results in me losing the ball, and sometimes in conceding a goal (lost one game in the last few minutes because of this).

I know they changed defending and I'm trying to adapt to that, but the gameplay feels so much more different.
