The tackle was horrible mainly due to the fact that Forsberg didn't hit Lahm like he intended to. My guess is he of course wanted to take him down and even cause some pain, but he just misread Lahm's movement and eventually hit him "too early" or at least earlier than he thought he would. IMO he was inentionally going for a clear yellow card & some pain for Lahm, but he failed at that^^

forsberg wanted to take lahm down at all cost but he didn't want to injure him.
he was happy to be booked in order to prevent the counterattack, but he didn't hit him properly and that's why it looks so bad.
