Yeah German is very difficult to learn and master (mostly because of the grammar) but Norwegians (and probably all scandinavians) have an advantage since the words are similar and things are often pronounced more or less the same. I've only had German for one year at school and that was years ago but I can probably understand 30-40% of what you guys are saying when you type in German in th***ern thread for instance. But actually speaking it I only know very basic words.
Its the same as a Portuguese person will most likely find it easier to learn Spanish than idk.. Russian or German. And a Bosnian will have an easier time learning Russian than a Hispanic or Germanic language.
yeah, i can read some scandinavian stuff as well and understand most of it
as i am from the very north of germany i am familiar with the so called plattdeutsch which is an exact mixture of english, german and danish
