Lallana's pressing is class but if you put a gun to his head and threatened to pull the trigger if he missed a chance he should score, he' would be dead every time

That's the main issue. Hodgson's trying to be modern with his 4-3-3 variations, yet the major part of the game was lobbing the ball forward as usual. There's no way it can work, when u have only one guy up front who can finish. And that one guy is always battling for high balls.
