The commentator said something about a Brazilian team so I googled and found this:

"Tuesday’s win allowed Madrid to pass the consecutive wins mark of Frank Rijkaard’s Barcelona, a side that won 18 straight games in the 2005-06 campaign. Ancelotti’s squad are five wins away from equalling the world record of 24 straight victories set by Brazil’s Coritiba FC in 2011."

And that's a Brazilian team. Far from a top 5 league and no where near the competitiveness of the Champions League.

New record broken:

Real Madrid become first team to take 18 points from two group stages

2011-12 and 2014-15.

19 consecutive wins B) Spanish all time record (suck it barca) .

If any one can tell me what the world/European record for most consecutive wins in all competitions* is that would be great

*Must play in a top 5 league (EPL, Serie A, Bundesliga, Liga BBVA or Ligue 1) and also play in the Champions League

Pretty sure Real Madrid is dangerously close to a world record, iirc Bayern had 19 consecutive wins as their personal best, not sure if that was in all competitions though.

I think 19 wins is the record in Europe. I read today that the world record is held by Coritiba with 24 consecutive wins.

Obviously, that's only considering top flight teams, because in the regional leagues there have been teams that have won 30 consecutive games or more.

that team had no refs in it, like mobdrid had at ludogorets, celta and shitload other games.

Mobdrid form is purely a question of refereeing mistakes favorising them.

Despicable to even bring it up.

Indeed. That's why it has to be a UCL + top 5 team, other wise the record could possibly be an Egyptian team that's won 137 games in a row, obviously not as impressive as 19 straight wins in the toughest possible competition.

All of these so called "records" don't really mean anything, if you don't win anything

Good thing we are the current winners of the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and Copa Del Rey then.
