Screw morals when money can be made.
Practically the murican motto.
What is 'immoral' about providing a valuable service? because it goes against your pleb understanding of the world you learned in 4th grade history?
ooh hes making profit how terrible

I understand how supply-demand works, but this isn't the point.
If they set the min price at the standard 150-300 or so, and the bin at 5k, and if gets sold for 5k because there's a high demand, that's fine. The issue is that they are setting the min price at 4.9k because the only thing that matters to them about the plane crash is that now they can make more pixel coins.
Now i realize this goes against common taboos and feelings, but try to keep an open mind.
Do you set the min value of all of your cards at 150-300 or so? or do you set the price higher for cards that are worth more and you want to make sure you get at least a certain amount for them?
If people are buying them at 5k, then thats what they are worth.
If they dont want to sell their own stuff below that price, that is their decision. They don't want to let go of their valuables at 300. Perhaps they would rather wear it themselves at that price, and less of them would be on the market. Its not evil.
They may have been bought up at 300 or some middling amount before someone who really wants one and is able and willing to spend 5k on it could get a hold of one.
Then both the seller and the consumer lose out. Who wants that?
Why are you so upset that they want to make a virtual coin profit in a video game of at most a few thousand coins?
What difference does it make to you if someone earns less than a single gold card pack selling a badge in a video game? Who is harmed there? No one.
The implication that they should have to arbitrarily list them at an extremely low start price while keeping a high bin or be branded evil-doers is rather bizarre.
That being said, I think EA's move was smart. They stunt the complaining of people like you and let everyone rep the Brazilian club in their time of tragedy.
A significantly lower price ceiling would have made them disappear from the market.
