There's a difference between selling them at the regular badge price of 150-300 or so, and selling them for the maximum of 4.9-5k just because they know people will want to wear the badge to honour the victims.

Sorry but imo you have to be a pretty shitty human being to use a tragic accident to make this kind of overblown profit. It's a matter of ethics, and most free market economies have regulations to stop people from doing this kind of stuff.

The increase in price reflects an increase in demand, and is incentive to actually sell the badges.

Its a matter of not understanding economics and getting emotional over a few inconsequential coins in a video game.

Laws against 'price gouging' in real life are much more harmful, causing shortages of essential goods and services in a particularly desperate time of need.
In this case they can make an infinite amount of jerseys and badges with a few clicks of a mouse.
