thanks. Lemme just ask one thing to make sure I read that chart correct and understand the system. Portugal should feel pressure to aggressive on offense for 2 reasons:
1) They are losing the fairplay tiebreaker to Spain, so their chance to win the group is to have a better goal differential
2) They don't have as much to lose by being aggressive, since a 1-1 draw against Iran is no worse than a 1-0 win. Both results mean they finish 2nd in the group.
The above is based on the assumption that Spain wins their match (which Portugal will be factoring into their strategy)
i dont think any team is seriously looking at that fair play shit tbh. they are playing the group russia/uruguay anyway, doubt they care very much who they play in the end.
yes in theory, as of now portugal has to get a "better result/higher win" against iran compared to spain vs. maracco (1-1 > 0-0, 2-1 > 1-0). but that also depends what spain/portugal does in terms of yellow and red cards in their last matches
