Mallorca will be playing home today against Alavés. Alavés is a typical 3rd level team, which in the 90s had a breakthrough and rose all the way to Primera, where hey had only played for one season many decades before. They became a pretty solid team and I'm sure most of you guys remember them reaching the EL final in 2001, where they lost to Liverpool in a spectacular game that finished 5-4. A few year's later a rich ukranian guy called Piterman, who had previously bought and relegated Racing, took over Alavés and ruined it. He was a guy that literaly bought clubs in order to manage them. He'd hire a coach that would do most of the work during the week, but he'd go sit next to him during matches and tell them what to do. The club relegated back to the 3rd level and Piterman was forced to sell due to the fans' pressure. Now they are back in Segunda after promoting last season.

Alavés has one of the lowest budgets in the league. They are sitting in the relegation zone (although only one point away from exiting it), and are one of the main candidates to finish there at the end of the season. This is obviously a game Mallorca has to win; not only because the team desperately needs the points, but because there's a huge difference in level between the teams, especally with Mallorca playing home. If we don't win this then our manager might lose his job...

Game day!

Middlesbrough play away to Leeds today, should be a really good match, bitter rivals also which makes it even better! I can't go to the game cause it is away, and is extremely expensive ticket prices! Was really confused at it!

Well let's just see how it goes, we have a good team, but a poor defence, and making it worse, we have 2 injured CB's that may be coming back into the match today and may not? But are they fit? We need this to get us closer to the top half of the table! We are currently 16th and this will be the first game for Aitor Karanka, our new manager, who used to be Real Madrid assistant under Jose Mourinho!

we lost unlucky 0:1
only a few chances on both sides and a draw woulda been deserved :(

€ just read their goal was offside <_<

We lost 2-1 away from home, and our goalkeeper got sent off. We played well though for a team with 10 men! And seeing some new tactics with the new manager that may help us a little more!
