The sweet irony is:
Özil never wanted to be integrated in the 1st place.
Like many other "rich" immigrants he chose to pick out the best out of 2 cultures to create something new just for himself and his family.
In his "world" there is no contradiction between taking the pic and enjoying the advantages of democracies in the EU.
Btw do you really think he gives a fuck about politics? he just loves his relatives more than Germany imho.

what does integrated mean to you ? he is german afterall .... there are no 2 cultures. When he lives in germany it is a part of german culture ^^(even the mosques are german and part of german culture). After all i m grateful for his german achievments in football but not rly suprised that people
can feel discriminated even as pro footballer..... there are diffcult things for footballers to talk about (others aswell).
i bet he speaks alot better german than turkish aswell and about his family ... i just know that he had problems with his father bcos he made him quit real madrid with a misunderstanding if i remember right.
what do you think about germany? How important must germany be for you as individual ? alibi singing the anthem does not make you a better german

i usually use incorporated instead of integrated. To me it means only one thing: feeling at home in the city where you live AND being able to speak the official language.
