well france are the clear tournament favourites in my opinion. behind them, there are a couple of teams that could win it: belgium, italy, spain, england, maybe portugal.

so while the english press and fans are probably overenthusiastic and arrogant as usual, their relatively easy group, favourable schedule (assuming both england and france finish 1st in their groups they won't meet until the final), and home field advantage (which btw is a joke, given how covid mutantions are rampant in england), they could definitely win it this time.

well, thanks to your great goalkeeping tradition, 1966 remains the only final you ever made - hard to bottle it in the final if you don't play, lol. meanwhile kahn almost single-handedly carried us to the final in 2002, and that's not even an exaggeration. his mistake was obviously unfortunate, but looking at the big picture, that runner-up finish was a huge success considering how mediocre that team was.

anyway, your usual butthurt aside, my main point wasn't even that your current goalie is bad or anything, just that he looks like a middle aged woman. at least in the match highlight clip i watched.
