He's definitely past it. Finished imo.

And it's not a matter of him being a good or bad a manger, it's a matter of him being unambitious and incapable of motivating his team. He has a bunch of quality players that have yet to taste silverware, and he's unable to make them hungry (you'd expect them to be desperate for a title). Sure you get the occasional game where they are fired up after getting the stick and they go on to play well, win and everything seems fine... but that's human nature and the players being professional, not some miracle pulled off by the old crock; we've seen teams pull of similar reactions under terrible managers. I wouldn't go as far as saying he doesn't care anymore, but he just doesn't have the mentality or passion a top club demands.

Yes, it's great that they are the only english team that has always finished top 4 since he took over; especially if we consider that Man Utd and Chelsea have failed to do so in recent years... but you also have to keep in mind that, unlike Arsenal, these teams underwent through toxicity problems, managerial changes, and several complicated transition phases... and, as painful as they've been, they've helped the clubs come back stronger. These clubs have been ambitious. Their fans and boards have demanded titles, and not just a fucking 4th place trophy or the occasional FA Cup while the other teams are struggling. Of course it's easy for Wenger to keep the squad in peace if their goals are easy to accomplish and he's letting go their more ambitious stars before they become unhappy there. Under a different good manager I'm sure they'd have won at least 1 or 2 leagues in this past decade. Come on even Leicester has managed to take advantage of the situation and win the league ffs.

Dropping from the top 4 is bound to happen soon. With ambitious and more up to date managers like Klopp, Conte, Mourinho, Guardiola, etc managing the oppsotion, Arsenal will have no chance once these managers have completely settled into their new clubs. Only a change in manager can change that, otherwise it's just stretching the agony. Arsenal needs to undergo the painful transition phase the other clubs have gone through asap, because with every passing year the other big clubs are likely to be more stabilized. They've lost precious time by not doing this 4-5 years ago, and that's just going to make it harder for them to come back to glory.

And don't keep blaming it on injuries ffs. Yes, Arsenal has an injury problem, but they ALWAYS have injury problems. It's the same story every fucking year. I don't remember a season where Arsenal fans haven't complained about injuries. It's obviously not luck if it's happening every single year. There has to be a problem in either the coaching or medical staff, anyone can see it can't be a coincidence. And you'd expect any minimally intelligent manager to have realized by now there's something wrong... even if he doesn't find a way to fix it he could at least plan ahead and design the team so that he does not find himself with a sudden lack of options every season.

Tl:Dr little Leicester won the league while arsenal, who charge the most money for a match day ticket, haven't for over a decade.

The main issue I'm having with AW atm is the fact he refuses to change his team. Perez has been superb every time he was subbed in or started in cup matches yet he still refuses to start him ahead of someone else.
