with timo werner performing so well, i guess he'll be bayern's next transfer target: young, german, talented, would significantly weaken a direct opponent even on bayern's bench...

i like timo werner btw, wonderful young player

I doubt they would have won it, but tbf their collapse was mainly due to Ibisevic's injury.

if you're being serious, i disagree. they had plenty of options, especially offensively. mainly demba ba but also obasi and their midfielders (carlos eduardo & salihovic) scored plenty too.

sure, losing their main goalscorer didn't help but it wasn't their inability to convert their opportunities what prevented them from getting a better result or fight for the title even.
towards the second half of the season, many teams figured out rangnick's team football philosophy better and were able to counter hoffenheim's offensive style more reliably than in the beginning when they pretty much surprised the whole league.

It doesn't matter if they had more options, losing the man that had scored half of their goals had a big impact. Obviously it wasn't the only reason that they stepped down (like I said, I don't think they would have won the league), but I'm sure a Hoffenheim would have performed better during the second half of the season if he had still been around.
