and that, boys and girls, is what it looks like when all your "football knowledge" is based on video games and you have never played the game yourself. it's hilarious how you keep scoring these own-goals - if i didn't know any better i'd say that's pure skill...

covering posts is usually a gk's decision and as a cb you should be able to win some headers and not be a complete pushover.
and i'm not even advocating for picking players like huth again for the national team. it's one of the few of löw's unpopular decisions i can somewhat understand given our philosophy and how he wants to have cbs who can initiate attacks... still, kimmich, who undoubtedly is a talented player, does NOT have the physicality that's required for that position and that's very obvious. but guardiola did it so it's basically unavoidable löw does it too...

The only position that is slower is GK. CDM is not slower.... Compare cdm-cb and they will be equal in speed.

Look at merte, terry, pique etc etc... There are some fast cb's, but overall it's the slowest position. Cdm does have a lot of slow players too like cesc-busquets

What bothers me most is that this guy will get a free Ticket for the EC because he is playing for Bayern
Today he was the worst player on the pitch by a mile. Overall I haven't seen too many great displays of him either
Not sure why he even got a call at this stage

i agree in general, little misunderstanding there, i was not talking about covering the post itself
but the area where the header was made

you do need a free man to atack a corner there
even the huths and boatengs out there cant do much against a good run with a perfect header in that spot

i have scored quite some goals just like that myself
kimmich won many headers for us on the first post where pep usually placed btw ^^

i fear so too. i read something about löw testing him as a fullback even - a position where his lack of speed would be even more obvious? it's ridiculous really...

tbh, i don't even think he's a bad player. he did pretty well (for his age) in several games (for bayern) and he would make for a very decent defensive mid imo. but again, we DO have better options for that position (in weigl, khedira, can...) and we certainly should NOT play him as cb, simple as that...
