I am educated on the subject and I have personal experience having taken steroids myself. Those situations only arise after long term use of anabolic steroids. Another distinction is that the use of PED's in football mostly pertains to endurance drugs and fat burners - not anabolics. Of course, anabolics like testosterone will be used by some, but under the broad spectrum of 'doping', it is way more likely to take non anabolic PED's that would not have any impact on the likelihood of experiencing a heart attack. It would take prolonged use of high doses of test to induce a heart attack like this man experienced. I can't see that being the case with a footballer, if they were taking it they'd be on a consistent low dose or cycle on-off.
well the likelihood of someone taking the specific type of drugs that increase the danger of sudden cardiac death is hardly relevant to my point now is it? not that i agree with you to begin with given how most of the famous doping cases (de boer, davids) did in fact involve anabolic steroids (nandrolone) or epo (juve scandal) which also increases the risk of heart attacks.
that being said, i clearly stated that it's a tragedy and i hope it does NOT have anything to do with doping. so i don't know why it triggered you so badly...
