Here is the story; Abby Wambach said that Klinnsman is ruining the mens national team and 'soccer' in the US by bringing in "foreigners" even though they were born to American parents that were on US military bases/other jobs, etc.. Essentially saying that we should only pick from the lot who were bron and bred in America and went through our system. She said that the foreigners were the main reason USMNT were not winning world cups and beating high level teams. She included in this list US people who try to play in Europe as well.

So obviously the people on the US team were angered by that, Bedoya playing for Nantes tweeted at her saying what he said for being Xenophobic.

You probs wont see this but there is the back story.

What she said was the dumbest fucking thing in the short history of footy in the US, god it is so painful. Sure lets not take advantage of foreign born Americans who actually get to progress through proper youth system.

thx man. ya sure, let's not blame the fact that football hasn't been one of the major sports in us culture for the longest time and was until recently considered a "women's sport" mostly. let's completely ignore the fact that europe and south america have huge historic, structural and competitive advantages when it comes to men's football which is the #1 sport in almost all of their countries. the REAL reason your mnt is not winning titles on the highest level is CLEARLY... foreigners! you know, ppl who actually grew up in countries with proper football youth systems and at the very least helped to elevate the level of the team somewhat... she sounds like a trump supporter...

don't get me wrong, i don't think klinsmann is a particularly good manager or anything, in fact, i think he's rather bad - but not relying on that foreign knowledge, talent and ability would certainly not improve the situation at all...

modern feminist logic is that women can do everything men can do and be exactly as good at it. In their minds the female players are as good as their male counterparts but just don't get the same 'recognition'

Klinnsman...I sort of agree with you. I think the USMNT suits him for his abilities imho. We are mediocre. No beating around that bush. But he at least is bringing in talent that previous managers didnt even think to do. I hate football in America, it is so corrupt and stupid. The MLS ruins any hope of the US making strides to become a decent Nation for football. The youth system here sucks. The college system sucks. The Professional level sucks. The fields suck. US is one of the only nations that uses Turf fields at a competitive level, such a joke it hurts. They say its bc of bad weather, yet England still keeps their fields immaculate and its ALWAYS raining and always shitty there.

I could literally go on forever about the topic of football in America; I wish i could actually speak to someone from the USSA or something to see how dumb they really are.



This is rather true as well. The USWNT is currently protesting to get higher wages for what they do. They think they are better than the USMNT on an even playing level, which is such a joke. US mens actually can fill 3/4 a stadium. whilst the USWNT fills maybe 1/5 of a stadium. All attendance is rather pathetic.
