i really like the guy (geis), he's always been a fair player when he played in mainz and i'm sure he hasn't suddenly turned bad when he moved to schalke.
but this tackle was bad. really bad. and it was deliberate and only aimed at the player imo. he had plenty of time to at least pull back his foot when he realised he wouldn't get the ball (if that really ever was his intention). i don't know why exactly he was so frustrated but it's pretty clear he just wanted to hurt someone. i believe him when he says he didn't want to injure him that badly, take him out for at least half a year but i think 5 games is not enough, this wasn't an accident.
ideally, he should be banned until hahn can play again since it was clearly deliberate imo - but i'm aware this is unrealistic and given the fact that you can't prove it, it would lead to ridiculous decisions in the future, the courts don't work this way it's just what i personally think would be fair...
