while i DO think that costa is a massive c*nt, i also find it somewhat strange that he gets a ban like this after a massive public outcry after the match.
it was certainly dirty and uncalled for and has nothing to do with football and if the ref sends him off for it i'm fine with that decision.
but considering how many elbows to the face, dirty little pushes, shoves and other infringements happen during each and every match day, this is something that only stood out because it was costa (again) and no one (except chelsea fans) likes chelsea to begin with. i guarantee you that a rooney or a wilshere would have gotten away with it. so where is the line we draw here?
players who we consider to have a provocative / dirty playstyle in general will be punished for it after the game and all the others will keep getting away with even worse (because actually dangerous) stuff? if you want to be fair about it and not judge the clubs / players differently based on their popularity, these are gonna be busy days for the fa...
