performance of german teams?

it's a nothing league with Bayern unchallenged all year

well this "nothing league" managed to get all 4 of their cl teams past the group stage for two successive seasons and the season before that, two german teams played the final...

i understand it's not as attractive for an international audience (especially, and this is the only reasonable point you made, when bayern dominates like the last two years) as the premier league is but again - those spots are awarded for performance, nothing else...

And if you want to argue any of those 4th spot teams mentioned would be better based on "football performances" if United played either Valencia,Fiorentina,Leverkusen you would not find a bookie in the world that wouldnt have United as favourite .

again, the ranking is not based on "who would you rather watch" or "who my bookie favours" - they are based on ACTUAL performances. dunno what's so hard to understand...

if liverpool gets eliminated by basel - less points, no matter how many fans they have, no matter what the bookies said before the group stage... if city and chelsea can't make it out of the group stage against teams like nordsjaelland, ajax and shakhtar - less points, no record transfer and oil money injection can change that. i really don't know how to explain it in a way that you get it, i really don't think it's so difficult. you just have to leave your bias out of it for a couple of seconds maybe then you'll get it...

ya well you know... that's just like... uhhh... your opinion, man....
you're obviously entitled to it but that doesn't make it less retarded...

also, i'm not "living" in the past, i'm just explaining to you how those rankings are made. unfortunately no one was able to create one based on future performances (or bookie predictions or fan voting) so we'll have to work with this...

serie a will fail in the cl with juve losing vidal and pirlo
but they could have a good run in the el i think

the epl might face some problems, their senseless spending isnt working and english football still has huge problems in terms of modern tactics and teamplay
but i guess they will keep their 3rd place

our bundesliga will be dependent on bayerns run in the cl and dortmund in the el
i dont expect the remaining teams to do much, maybe wolfsburg makes the last 16...

its very funny how the deluded prem fans think they have a given right to get 4cl spots
how about performing?

obviously i'd also prefer more premier league teams over more serie a teams and for anyone who isn't german ofc over bundesliga too...

that being said, people complaining about it and making arguments about fan bases and attractiveness of the squads and big names are clearly ignoring the simple fact that those spots are distributed by performance - not by marketing success...
so invest those oil and tv billions smartly and it won't even be a challenge... simple as that...

This. If they use their money wisely, staying in the top 3 will be a breeze.

Also, I wonder how teams like Liverpool, who played without proper intensity in EL and some CL group games, will feel over their past performances if they see that their chances of getting CL football are 99% gone (which would be the case if the 4th placed team stopped getting a CL ticket).

Okay let's base this on 14/15 4th positions of the 3 leagues .. Who would you rather watch in the cl ( supposedly top level football competition)

A) manchester United (Forbes second most valuable club in the world)
B) bayern Leverkusen
C) Fiorentina

Not that the Forbes reference is relevant but it's not even close at all.. Anyone with a brain would pick United ... Based on purely footballing reasons

E/
You could even throw the Spanish 4th spot in (Valencia) and it would still be United by a million miles based purely on performances and football reasons

tbh, I rather watch the EPL over any other league because the overall level of the teams is better, but when I watch the CL I rather watch teams that can properly compete in that competition. If english teams are going to play like garbage in european competitions, then I rather watch teams from other countries.

Of course, if english teams were to perform according to their potential then I'd much rather see 4 of them in the CL over 4 italians or 4 germans; but they have to earn their right to those 4 spots just like everyone else tbf.

the style is just different and better to watch
though tactically weaker than the other leagues
epl teams have their players scattered all over the pitch, one team makes an attack and they leave tons of space behind while the defense is still in their own half at some point
then a quick counter begins
i love it as well btw ^^

lots of action, but they are getting rekt by halfway decent teams that are compact

Bundesliga will hopefully not get lucky and flop this year again.
Serie a will do well and england will good.
Bundesliga drops to 4.

It might be better for italy that lazio dropped to Europa, because although they don't get bonus pts they will have easier chances of winning.

Not with Dortmund in it.
