According to sources, This is the reason Sepp resigned.

Wonder how deep it really goes though.

good day for football. now let's hope they find a competent and worthy replacement... i wouldn't mind a former player (as long as it's not platini) as i'd assume he'd be more interested in the development of football itself than in the development of his career...

having a former player is kinda stupid.

I would prefere to have a lawyer, an accountant, anything else really.

For sure i would hate to have figo there.

i know what you mean, in terms of competence, a former player might not be the best choice.
however, i still think it'd be the best solution because you'd have (ideally) a charismatic person people can get behind determine what to focus on and that'd be much more likely in the best interest of the game itself. lawyers and accountants would be his counsellors obviously and ofc there's still a huge amount of politics and diplomacy to take care of anyway but i'm sure that's something an intelligent person can learn...

exactly the reason why a lawyer etc. guy is not needed for that position
its simply not needed

that post needs a former player, a personality with decent reasoning who truly loves this sport
nobody wants a damned suit wearer who is brooding over law paragraphs....

Fifa president Sepp Blatter is being investigated by US officials as part of their inquiry into corruption at the world football body, US media say.
The news came hours after Mr Blatter announced that he was stepping down from his role.

lel Okay.

We all know he will join the others in jail. Where that filthy money grabbing dickhead belongs.
