I've read the contrary. That he said nothing about retiring then bayern announced guardiola, then after winning treble heynckes said its the perfect exit and he needs time out of football anyways.

Everyone keeps forgetting his first season though.

Getting CL with class players that peaked that period is not something out of the ordinary, especially when having favorable ref decisions (especially in the finals).

Overrated coach, mostly by bayern fans. Better than van gaal though.
