or de bruyne who just recently was fined for calling a ball boy a "motherf*cker" without any reason. what is it with belgians and ballboys?

@ topic: as much as i hate cronaldos on pitch personality, i admire his composure here. when you're at the top, haters gonna hate, the ball boy was a douchebag, props to cronaldo for not going joe hart on him...

Do you really think he should have been fined for that?

on the one hand not because i'm pretty sure things like that (and even worse) occur in every game. that being said, i don't particularly like it because the ball boy really didn't do anything bad, didn't delay the game or anything along those lines, it was just that wolfsburg was behind and time was running out iirc.
on the other hand he was stupid enough to shout at the ball boy right in front of a microphone that picked it up so i can understand why they still fined him...

and before you ask i also don't really think it's a specifically belgian thing to mess with ball boys...

I'm not taking this personal at all

But do you really think De Bruyne woul dhave noticed that microphone? Seems a little farfetched to me.. He definatly shouldn't have said that, but to be fined 20000 euro's (!) for that?!

i'm not saying he should have noticed the mic and chosen his words accordingly, haha...
no, i just think he's a professional athlete for a long enough time to know that there are microphones and cameras everywhere and to be quite honest, he should be a more decent human being and role model to know not to swear at kids just because the game doesn't go like he wants it to.

and 20k € is really not much for a top player like him. also i think he already apologised and even gave him a jersey so all is good. believe me, those 20k really won't hurt him too much...

Definatly not a reaction a top player should do, but I think we both know that De Bruyne isn't the typical famous person :P

The 20k definatly wont hurt, but I just think it's not in balance with for example dirty challenges that don't get fined. (same for the Balotelli suspension for his tweets etc)

oh, don't get me started on justice and punishment in football. there is so much bs that should be punished way harder than it does (elbowing, blatant diving, ref infuencing, imaginary card waving, dirty off ball fouls...) and some things shouldn't be punished so harshly (last man fouls resulting in triple punishment, taking your shirt off, playing on for a few seconds after the ref interrupts the game...) but that should not prevent punishment for things like that, no...
