The actual difference is that Barcelona might get a better deal, seeing as they are building a new stadium and the trend is to secure a long term sponsorship for that (ie allianz arena, emirates. bla bla)

Kudos to madrid for pulling a good sponsorship out of an old stadium.

Barca are pretty much bank rolled by Qatar now ? Clearly the stadium will follow suit

"Abu Dhabi Santiago Bernabeu" Sounds pretty wrong to me

Renaming the Bernabeu for lots and lots of $

Opinions guys ?

A disgrace. If someone told Don Santiago that they might add a sponsor's name to his stadium he'd roll in his grave.

That being said, idc if the sponsor is arabic, spanish, german or chinese; I just don't want any sponsor.

The "good" news is that they'd keep the name and just add 2 words to it, instead of renaming the stadium.

Stadium sponsorship has been around since the beginning of time.

Welcome to the real world.

Before we start bro, aren't you a Newcastle fan?

I agree the name sounds pretty shit, but by all means if someone is willing to sponsor something then hell take the revenue

I think united went so far as to naming preferred suppliers for everything including tampons, light bulbs and tissues

Newcastle fan yeah!

I haven't yet said whether I agree or disagree with the stadium renaming though.

Clearly it is a case of tradition and history vs money though

Before stating what you want, tell me how you support your club. Membership ? How many shirts (this season) you got ? How many games you see ? ticket holder ?

if answer is predominantly no, then your opinion is worth jack shit

I think everything is for sale at a price in a football club, regardless of history. Including the sponsorship of LVGs botox injection appointments
