Last season he went 10 games without conceding a goal, 900 something minutes, while this year Barca fans are going crazy over Bravo's 7 games without conceding a goal... go figure. <-- not saying 7 games isn't impressive (it is), but if you're gonna praise Bravo for his 7 clean sheets, why ignore that Iker had 10 clean sheets last season?


And before that he was on the bench, so you can't judge that year, so you'll have to judge when he played in 2012, won the IFFHS goal keeper of the year award, made the FIFPRO X1, won the the Euro cup with hardly any goals conceded (I think it was 1 against Italy in the group stages...) and had the best % of shots saved in la liga that year.

Performs or gets the fuck out should be the policy. Everybody had patience with him and he rewarded it with badmouthing (see zark post) and even crappier performances.

Not to mention Iker broke a goal keeping record last season as well; no goalkeeper in Spanish history has ever made it to the finals of the copa del rey without conceding a single goal except for Iker, and he only conceded 1 in the entire tournament (the 1 goal barca scored in the final)


He was pretty much on Neuer's level (as #1 GK) up until his two horrible mistakes in the UCL final and then the disastrous world cup, he some how lost his confidence since those events :/

casillas was trash before the mourinho incident, when valdes started winning those zamora trophiex, after wc 2010 basically he started to decline.

2011 was filled with trully unbelievable mistakes, crap positioning and crap ball retention.


I understand you`re a fanatical madrid fan, but crap iker should have been sent away perhaps 4 years ago.

Valdes won the la liga trophy for conceding the least goals almost year after year because of the dominance his team had in la liga (> 70% ball possession every single game)

iirc Valdes had ~ 150 shots on him while Iker was averaging ~ 200 shots but Ikers % of shots saved was always higher than Valdes'. Talking about crap positioning and ball retention... I'm sure there are dozens of youtube videos dedicated to the failures of Valdes... there's a reason for why he's one of the most trolled goalkeepers of all time

Leave it to a barca fan to want him (Iker) benched/replaced when he was winning the golden glove / IFFHS GK award...
