PL is always 6-7 contenders, United are one of them this year yes.
I would say a big signing (Vidal or Di Maria) and defensive shore-ups are 100% necessary for a firm title push, just my opinion.
The team is led by a manager who has won things at many clubs and levels so that will as you said make a huge difference in the output on the pitch.

6-7 contenders, lol...

there's 3 contenders atm

chelsea
city
arsenal

where chelsea and city might have the best chances

Manu might be as good as 3rd only.

There are always a handful that can challenge each year, Citeh are strong and so are Chelski, but Utd, Gooners, and Scousers will be threats this season. Spuds aren't awful and Everton are quality as well.

Man Utd are vastly overrated because of Van Gaal. 3-5-2 will allow them to score more goals with RVP Rooney and Mata in their best positions but they will leak a lot of goals eventually. Herrera and Shaw were £60m and not of more quality than Liverpool's 7-8 signings that were about £100m. They'll have a good go for 4th and end up missing out.

i know they got van gaal but honestly

buying herrera and shaw isnt gonna make a tad of difference.

and now they are title contenders?

You will learn soon enough never to write off van Gaal with a "horrible" squad. Almost everyone did with Oranje and he got 3d place, after only a few weeks of training. Imagine what he could accomplish after a year.

And now is Rooney fit, van Persie lacks training hours due to the WC so he will be fit too. You are wrong as always son.
