Can every German who said Schweinsteiger was shit apologise now? Schweinsteiger's done nothing but impressed me all WC (I expected this kind of performance) but heard nothing but complaints over his form, being 'passed it' etc..

why would anyone do that
he had many crap games before the tourney

with bayern he almost never was the leader the media made of him

but this wc he finally stepped up to be the boss on the pitch :)

for me its Klose, Schweinsteiger, Lahm and Neuer.

Klose: unless Müller plays another 3 WCs his record could hold for half a century: Legend
Schweinsteiger: the boss, elderly statesman of the Manschaft: Legend
Lahm: propably the best RB of all times, Captain of the Manschaft: Legend
Neuer: best Keeper in the history, could easily play in the defense of Man U or Swansea, new Titan: Legend

Muller has 10 wc goals, Klose has 16. Muller can beat that record in 2018 or 2022 no problem. Muller is also a more talented player than Klose.
Lahm was bad for 60% of the tournement, but played well where it counts
Neuer was amazing this wc, although I can't help but feel that he is an accident waiting to happen. He is gonna get sent off or get owned by a clever striker, because sometimes he doesn't look comfortable sweeping

well, a red card happens to almost any goalkeeper once in a while

his timing is amazing and even if he gets sent off soon.....he still has the best successive rate by far

Fair enough, he is still my goalkeeper of the tournement. Just saying if I was a defender I would feel anxious about him coming out all the time for 50/50 challenges.

as would i ^^

but it would also make me think about my defensive performance if my keeper has to rush out every five minutes
as a defender i know that feel ^^

its not 50/50 if you ever played as goalkeeper, you feel that moment when you can come out before it gets risky. its more like 99/1, i remember just one time he failed that way (schalke vs inter 5:2).

/edit. forgot bayern - gladbach 0-1. but thats the only ones i remember compared to hundreds of saves

and that one wasnt a failure if you ask me

he headed the ball out to the halfway line where that inter player scored an incredible goal ^^
