CR7 has obviously become synonymous with the name Cristiano Ronaldo, R9 is often used when comparing the two Ronaldo's against each other and if you follow Özil on Facebook you'll see he often signs of saying "greetings from M1Ö". I guess he didn't do that anymore since he's #11 for Arsenal though.

I didn't mention LM10 or Z10 but I can wager anything you know exactly which two players I'm talking about ;)

I've only seen CR7 and R9 used on a regular basis. I've seen maybe 3 or 4 more abreviations like those used for other players on rare occasions, but that's it tbh.

Sadly the term used when comparing both ronaldos is "the fat one" and the other one.. :(

I am well aware of that. If its not fat Ronaldo vs the other, its " the real Ronaldo" vs the other one. It goes both ways :(

CR7 vs R9 is the most formal and neutral way of comparing them, unless you have the patience to type about Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro vs Ronaldo Luís Nazário de Lima :D :D

or Z5/Z21. Okay busted, I threw that one in for my love for him but you know who I'm talking about so my point's come across of the simple and effective use of these combined initial and shirt number abbreviations :p

Oh can't believe I forgot about SR4. I remember when Özil and Ramos had their bromance going on, Özil would post SR4 <3 and vice versa.

I've only ever seen ZZ for Zidane, but even that is a rare abreviation... I mean you can just type Zizou which isn't long at all.

The fact that you had to add "the 1 from Brazil" to explain which one you mean proves the opposite. ;)
