IMO, potentialwise:

This is why I prefer EPL over La Liga, there's too much of a difference in La Liga between the top two following 5-6 teams and an insane difference between the top two and the rest. But this doesn't mean that those that rank 3rd to 8th in La Liga are terrible, they are in fact capable of doing great performances in european competitions (as seen this season). Having the top two teams in La Liga it is only natural they win the CL, and having 5 or so good (but not beast) teams will give you a good chance of winning the EL aswell. The main problem with La Liga is that the teams on the bottom half are terrible, and this is why the share of the tv rights need to be changed, so that they can be competitive again.

They have no way to remember how it actually was, so they simply can't compare that with how it is. While EPL clubs was constantluy on the rise. But I guess one bad season is enough for kids to troll around.
