Well, anybody that's watched football for over 5 years knows that La Liga was the best league from the mid 90's to just about 5 years ago (in general, since Serie A was arguably superior at some points) which is when the EPL took over.

IMO, potentialwise:

RM & Barça > 2 Manchesters & Cheslea > Arsenal, Tottenham, Liverpool, Valencia > Sevilla, Athletic, Atletico > in general the rest of EPL > in general the rest of La Liga

current form will be different of course

This is why I prefer EPL over La Liga, there's too much of a difference in La Liga between the top two following 5-6 teams and an insane difference between the top two and the rest. But this doesn't mean that those that rank 3rd to 8th in La Liga are terrible, they are in fact capable of doing great performances in european competitions (as seen this season). Having the top two teams in La Liga it is only natural they win the CL, and having 5 or so good (but not beast) teams will give you a good chance of winning the EL aswell. The main problem with La Liga is that the teams on the bottom half are terrible, and this is why the share of the tv rights need to be changed, so that they can be competitive again.

This is where biggest problem lies. Most kids here watched football only 3-4 years and are incapable of having reasonable discussion beacuse of their lack of knowledge. They have no way to remember how it actually was, so they simply can't compare that with how it is. So one shouldn't hope to for them to be able to see simple fact, that the likes of Valencia, Depor, Betis or even relegated Celta are only mere shadows of the teams they once used to be. Furthermore, most La Liga fanboys aren't in fact Spanish at all. So it's obvious that they can't look past bandwagoning Barca or Real, cuz they simply don't know/aren't interested about the rest. And the only reason they claim La Liga is the best is cuz their "favourite" team plays there. While in reality, nobody, who was following football closely for past 15-20 years can deny the fact that La Liga is nowhere close to what it was in it's glory days at the end of 90's and beggining of 2000. While EPL clubs was constantluy on the rise. But I guess one bad season is enough for kids to troll around.

So Spanish teams (even those who finish 3rd or worse in La Liga) win more titles than English teams BUT that proves nothing because the point difference to the teams who win the CL more often than English teams is bigger?

Wow, I'm really sorry I never looked at it this way - I mean that clearly proves that EPL is superior, right? Titles are worthless, it's the point difference in the league.  :rofl:  :rofl:  :rofl:

I guess you're just immune to arguments and facts if this is your definition of a superior league!  :rofl:

It was about who has the better league you idiot. It is more exciting to watch games if ANYTHING can happen. And it is never clear who is going to win it till the last 4/1 game(s). That is wat makes it a better league.

Let's take a look at facts and not at stupid assumptions and lame ass excuses like "sure we got buttraped but they wouldn't be able to buttrape even worse teams each weak".
To be fair I'll compare their performance since 1992/1993(when Premier League as it exists today and the Champions League were established):

European Titles:

Premier League: 3 CL titles, 1 EL title (2 teams overall)
Primera Division: 6 CL titles, 4 EL titles (5 teams overall)

League Champions:

Premier League: 4 (12x United, 3x Arsenal, 3x Chelsea, 1x Blackburn)
Primera Division: 5 (9x Barca, 6x Real, 2x Valencia, 1x Depor, 1x Atletico)

Transfer balance last 10 years (in Mio. €):

Premier League: - 215, - 353, - 69, - 323, - 456, - 299, - 266, - 321, -250, - 204 --> 2,756
Primera Division: - 61, - 8, - 258, - 15, - 271, - 255, -32, - 138, - 19, - 94 --> 1,151

Foreigners playing in the league:

Premier League: >  63 %
Primera Division: < 38 %

Now hate all you want. The facts won't change!

It's funny because Barça won 1991/92 CL.
