I think players aren't made like they use to be. In the past, players would leave everything on the pitch for their manager.
They would fight for the fans and if it came to be, leave the pitch on a stretcher for the cause.

sacking Mourinho days before a cup final (which is basically the only game he is useful for anymore, going 6-3-1 and knicking a 1-0 or 1-1 win on penalties) didn’t work out. he has gone and beaten guardiola before in these types of matches (with much better squads sure, and a while ago), even as a shadow of his former self he was always a much better bet. they were gonna sack him anyways might as well have tried to knick a trophy. nothing for kane and son to hang around for.
