Topic. Here in the US, the seasons are just getting started. Got me wondering, how many users here are just wrapping up their domestic seasons abroad (euro friends) or how the beginning of the season looks for you Americans here.

Last sunday my squad won 4-3 against a newly promoted squad. There are playoffs in my league :fume: but the winner gets a bid into the Lamar Hunt US open cup (like the FA cup), my team lost 1-0 in the final last year. Really hoping the team represents PA west and makes a run deep into the tournament.

Standings are done quite lamely, but its a relatively competitive league with great prizes for the winners, and the commitment level is low enough that i can focus on grad school/my full time job. http://www.pawest-adult.org//team_management/view_standings.php?reg_period=12&div_id=14

Team Name is Montour Kickers FC and wear gold and white.

No hate in the thread.

@grahambo you need to come to one of my games, we play at Graham park which is in Cranberry, shouldnt be too bad of a drive for you

Sounds pretty cool. gl

I havent played since my early highschool/middleschool days.
Not sure where I would look for a casual league and i'm sure i'd be pretty miserable at it now, haha. I switched over to baseball/american football as I got older.

Haven't been able to play for a few years now due to foot injuries. Main sport I do now is just running.

yeah, season is slowly coming to an end, only 3 games to go here :P

my team was newly promoted to the second highest amateur level in hamburg (and third highest in germany) and we are currently 6th (out of 16) with a pretty chance to finish as 4th
more than decent since avoiding relegation was our objective at the start of the season

next season will be harder though, our best striker and our playmaker and captain will leave us in summer to play on 4th level
they are just too good

but we have a pretty dope sports facility, a physiotherapy team and some more quality of life stuff to attract new players
cant wait for the break right now, my body needs some rest ^^

That sounds so dank. I am completely and utterly envious of the popularity and resources Europeans have to playing football. Trying to find sponsors here is damn near impossible. Getting a facility is even harder bc the USSA only focuses on youth production, so any facilities I used growing up become unavailable for the still actively playing adults, we can only play if we pay ~$300/use. Dont even get me started on the US and the inability to convey a proper use of the promotion/relegation system. They say that it wont work, but in reality its the MLS owners protecting their investments, instead of actually bringing in competitive play and a means of a system that makes sense.

Always hard to keep the talent in a lower division when they have the ability to go play more competitively.

Next home game isnt until july 16th. Have a lot of away games coming up, but come to that one, you can see us lose to the US open team lol. Theyre completely sponsored by Yards brewing company and Pipers Pub, so they attract the best talent. They have taken like 4-5 of our first team players in the past 3 years. Some frustrating stuff.

Always will I'm afraid, few years ago I slid tackle and my upper foot hit the post, tearing most of the muscles there and since then I have one injury after the other.

If I really wanted to I could work on it in the gym and be stronger but lacking motivation and no free time

one of my teammates studied in the us for a year and told us the exact same thing, he didnt get to play there at all except for fun with some fellow students
for comparison, i am paying 13 bucks a month membership fee btw
our system is completely different since here the cities/towns provide major parts of upkeep etc

i should point out though, that my club got incredibly lucky with the conditions that we have
investors bought our old facility (which was in a ridiculous state) for some serious money and quite some of it was reinvested

other clubs suffer a lot from missing funds (thats perhaps the downside, when politics has no interest you are fucked), private sponsoring has become difficult nowadays
my childhood club for example is begging for years to get ~300k€ for a turf pitch, which would actually save even more money in the future, but the city rather spends millions elsewhere......so its not all good here too ^^

i think its only a matter of time until you will follow our system with promotion/relegation to be competitive, give it some time until the base is large enough

Mill = Diaby confirmed.

I'm mostly just playing indoor, it gets too hot here in Utah and some of the more common outdoor leagues here are filled with gangster wanna-be mexicans, which isn't a problem, but them starting fights and bringing weapons to games is.

Honestly, I've always enjoyed indoor more, so much more shit to do. I partially tore my LCL 2 years ago, then badly fucked my ankle so I still have remnants of damage on both.
