Anyone playing? It's much better than last years...and one of the better versions in quite a while.

I think it's the easiest I've ever played. I'm managing Rapid Wien and I'm absolutely dominating... I don't have the best squad in the league (at least not on paper), but I'm already league champion (there's still like 5-6 games to go), in the Cup final, and in EL semis. All this while undefeated in all competitions except for an EL game against Ajax.

It does feel more fun than previous years in terms of layout and day to day squad managing, but the lack of difficulty I'm experiencing so far is a bit dissapointing. It's just not realistic at all... I'm hammering every team in my league, and in EL I had no trouble with stronger teams like Mainz, Southampton, Zenit or Inter. I have to face Spurs in semis, let's see how that goes...

I didn't make any super signings either, I just spent the 3M I had in 3 cheap players... my team is basicly the same one that is struggling in the Austrian Bundesliga irl.

there's difficulty levels? since when? wtf don't tell me I've been missing out on this for years

how do you make your manager? if you select no playing experience and no coaching badges, it will be much harder

I've always used what the game gives me by default depending on the club I pick.

so you probably have the good coaching badges. try picking sunday league player and the lowest coaching badge next time. it makes things a lot harder. players wont respect you as much ect...

also if you want a real challenge, start unemployed with no reputation and work your way up. thats what im doing. i applied for like 15 jobs then finally dover hired me in like october. taken them from 19th to currently 6th with like 7 games remaining. im right outside promotion. managing a semi pro team sucks lol

That has always appealed to me, but I never got around doing it (the unemployed bit I mean; I have managed semipro teams before), it does sound like fun.

My first file in every FM is always a team with a rich history from a bad league (I've done Anderlecht, Panthinaikos, Crvena Zvezda, Hajduk Split, etc) and I try to win the CL with them. The challenge here is that your league's reputation is crap, and you have to slowly carry it up the UEFA rankings before any decent players want to join your team and you can start building towards winning the CL. Bonus points if the country isn't part of the EU as the league usually has higher restrictions on player selection (with Crvena Zvezda for example, I could only select a maximum of 3 nonserbian players above the age of 23). And to me it's also a way to learn about the players in those leagues and the details of their career, as well as the clubs, the league records and the football history of that country (I do spend more time than I'd like to admit browsing player/club profiles ).
