Messi & father given jail sentences
Football
Posted at 11:47 BREAKING
Barcelona forward Lionel Messi and his father Jorge have been sentenced to a 21-month prison sentence for breaching Spanish tax laws.

Messi has also been fined around 2m euro and his father 1.5m euro.

Will probably avoid jail time. But still amusing.

In Spain if you have less than 2 years sentence you won't go to the jail. It will be suspended sentence. So Messi is safe for now :) And that's good.

It's a joke, as there are people who have been sentenced for over 2 years for much less money. But at least it's something, I guess.

I personally would prefer a higher fine over jail time. Having someone in jail doesn't fix anything unless he's a danger to society, but making him pay a huge fine does.
