I'm curious about who you think will actually start for the teams of the EC.

Friendlies don't really help for judgement, some injured players have to be replaced, maybe some youngsters will make the team?

Anyways it's not that easy to maintain an accurate overview with all these nations.

I'll start with what I think Löw will field as a standard formation:

Gomez
Götze - Özil - Müller
Khedira - Kroos
Hector - Boateng - Hummels - Can
Neuer

Löw still hasn't found a real solution for the right full back position.
He's probably thinking about Can, Höwedes, Rüdiger and Mustafi but will imo end up with Can, whom he tested on that position many times now.
I doubt he's the right choice, he is really more of a midfielder. It's just a shame Lahm ended his career for the national team.

I'm pretty certain that the false 9 crap is over. Gomez will start every match, provided he stays fit.

I'd like to see Sané get a lot of play time but the likes of Schürrle, Poldi and Draxler will be subbed in before him...

Belgium:

Lukaku
Hazard De Bruyne Carrasco
Nainggolan Witsel
Vertonghen Vermaelen Denayer Alderweireld
Courtois

I'm not 100% sure who will play on the right wing, could be Origi, Mertens, Carrasco, De Bruyne etc.
Also for the midfield I'm not sure either, Radja is coming back from an injury and Wilmots loves Witsel, but Dembélé had a great season and Fellaini plays well for us.
Defence is a bit shaken because of injuries, but this should be our defence.
Goalkeeper is no doubt.

Interesting, I wouldn't have thought Carrasco was a serious choice before Origi and Mertens

I read that Wilmots recognized at last KdB should be placed as a number 10, which is just completely right.

So Nainggolan is kind of a safe starter?

It's what I think Löw will choose.

Given that Reus went out, the offensive 3 behind Gomez are kind of set

I'm curious what will happen as soon as Schweinsteiger can start matches again..

Carrasco had an amazing season for Aletico so it's likely that he will play more than Origi.
Mertens unfortunatly is a super sub in his eyes, he's the most popular player in the squad but he has that impact that not alot of subs have.

KdB still plays on the rightwing every now and then, but for sure he's a 10 in everyones eyes.
And if Radja is fit, he should be a safe starter (even tho he wasn't called up for the WC). He has proved himself to be a great midfielder for Roma and also for Belgium during the qualifiers.

The absolute safe starters are: Hazard, De Bruyne, Witsel, Vertonghen, Vermaelen (if fit), Alderweireld and Courtois.

with reus and bellarabi out, i honestly wouldn't mind sané actually starting on the left. also, i really really hope he plays özil in the centre - i mean, it's pretty obvious to everyone else in the world that that's where he belongs but with löw you never know...
