van gaal's playstyle requires players on the wings who could create chances out of nothing, like prime ribery/robben. he doesn't have that, result is a boring pos football.

None of those "we're rebuilding" "next year we'll challenge" "we're 2 or 3 players away" excuses work when you have had that amount of money to invest. By no means should this all be blamed on him though, he should and probably does have the final say on transfers, but the scouts have to do a better job.
