just wondering what your take on your club's most recent deals is, especially curious what our arsenal fans think, because they made some pretty massive moves imo.

as for my club (mainz 05), it's been a pretty average off-season imo:

- we signed a talented young central mid (tom krauß) from leipzig, and loaned a centre back from liverpool (sepp van den berg, previously loaned to schalke)
- we lost a left back (martín) who was quite good for us overall, our backup goalie (the guy who made bayern champions last season), and one of our two most prolific strikers (which isn't as bad as it sounds given our winter signing, ajorque, is much better imo)

overall not quite as big of a hit to our quality as we usually have between seasons. wouldn't mind another young fullback though...

Naturally a very difficult window for leicester, but so far have to say I'm pretty happy with it.

In:

Coady
Winks
Doyle
Hermansen
Mavididi

Out:

Evans
Hirst
Maddison
Soyuncu
Tielemans
Amartey
Mendy
Bertrand
Perez
Barnes

Obviously sad to see our stars go, but you're not keeping the likes of Maddison and Barnes in the championship. Tielemans was leaving this summer anyways and most of the others weren't getting a sniff anyways (rightly or wrongly)

We've managed to clear huge chunks off the wagebill, pocket some cash from sales and get in what so far look to be players more than capable of tackling a championship campaign. Winks looks fantastic at this level and Mavididi looked lively as hell on the wing in our first game.

Still rumoured to be 6 players wanting to move on, who they are no one knows but if they aren't gone quick then I can't see how we can let them go at all. A championship season is a long ass season and whilst the bench in our first game should actually be illegal for this level if we lose a few more now, and get a few injuries, we could find ourselves short of depth very very quickly.

I'd put the window at a nice 7/10 so far. 3 weeks left of the window, another CB and winger needed imo.

Player with how I rate the transfer.

In:

Kovacic 10/10
Gvardiol 10/10 this guy is going to be the best Pep CB in the world in 2 seasons.

Out:

Gundogan so sad he’s leaving, but leaving on a treble is a nice send off.
Cancelo (most likely) 10/10 seems like a toxic player, Pep got rid of him for a reason.
Laporte (most likely) 5/10, great player, wish we could keep him but he would never start
Mahrez 10/10, great player, but he’s 32 and we got 30m for him, so pleased with his departure.

Ultimately, City’s business is always fantastic, best ran club in the world.

Manure did well so far. Finally cast off some long overdue exits and the incoming ones while somewhat pricey are all needs. Adding another CB and midfielder would be a certainly solid window.

Buyern have the best window assuming Kane transfer is legit. There will be grumbling in the British press about United not signing Kane as if they can control that bald maniac in charge of Spurs

In:

- Havertz: I was skeptical at first, but I'm really liking what I see so far. 7/10
- Timber: Really happy with Timber, versatile and impressive in pre-season 9/10
- Rice: THE player we needed to bring in, really really happy. 10/10
- Raya (to be announced): Odd one this, straight competition for Ramsdale, but I guess we need to be ruthless. I like Raya 7/10

Out:

- Xhaka: Perfect moment for him to leave, redemption arc completed 10/10
- Trusty: Few mills profit, was never going to play so 9/10
- Turner: Liked him, but not really any competition for Ramsdale 8/10
- Maitland Niles: Fucked up his own future at the club 10/10
- Mari: Did well for Monza, wish him all the best 10/10

Perfect window for us, business done early (except for Raya). Bring on the new season.

now that harry kane has landed i can make a statement

OUT

lucas hernandez: love the guy and he is a stud player, but he could only play half of the games. for 45M after his acl tear it was a no brainer 8/10

sadio mane: saudis bailed us out, huge flop for bayern, but i dont think anyone could have predicted this 9/10

marcel sabitzer: i hate it. he played perfectly fine, but then the coach who desperately wanted him just stopped playing him. the money is alright though 5/10

yann sommer: solid brigde gk, grabbed a title and left to be a starter at inter. we got more or less our money back 7/10

IN

konrad laimer: fantastic free agent addition, looks like he willl be the starter next to kimmich immediately 10/10

rapha guerreiro: another free agent, good depth, but unfortunately injured already 7,5/10

minjae kim: the best defender in serie a for 50 million in this market, wont get much better than that 10/10

harry kane: no comment needed B) B) B)

thats all worth mentioning so far, we still need a goalkeeper and there are 1-2 very possible departures, but so far its looking good

united's transfer windows these days are the wildest to me, even though liverpool's caicedo transfer gives them a run for their money in terms on big money spent on solid potential. if hojlund gets on a scoring streak early (he really has some high quality support in that squad), he could become an absolute banger, but his dud potential is much higher than, for instance, darwin nunez' was imo, as the latter was way more prolific and proven when the reds signed him...

holy shit, that's a lot of quality / big names leaving the club all at once...

ya, i also think arsenal did some fantastic deals this time around. i might even have to re-evaluate my premier league expectations for this season. just three months ago i thought arsenal would have "only" the 4th strongest squad on paper (behind city, liverpool, chelski) but at this point i wouldn't be shocked at all if you guys finished 2nd again (still expect city to dominate the league)...

I think City's squad depth now is the worst they've had in years.

As for Liverpool, we have not signed enough players as it stands, when you consider how many players have left. We need a CB and 1-2 DMs; and while the DM should be the priority, it looks like signing a CB isn't even on our radar at the moment.

Szoboszlai and MacAllister are very good signings though. Even if we signed no one else we should have enough to get top 4 comfortably.
