Of course games are fixed to some extent. Vegas, organized crime, e.t.c. try to sway things one way or another all the time. This is why they leave some things that could be done more accurately with technology as a judgment call by the ref, they can phone in a bullshit call and sway a game one way or another. It isn't, however, fake. There's no way you can fake something on that scale with that many people for that long, look at wrestling. The players and coaches are playing to win, the powers that be just nudge things in one direction or another so the "house" always wins.
Anybody who doesn't recognize this is naïve, in denial, or willfully ignorant, possibly all three. And this goes for every major sport. There's just too much money to be made, and when there's money to be made, there's people trying to game the system.
