Easily Vick

Vick had a really good NFL career, and even now has a decent career as an analyst. There was a good amount of time where he was the most dynamic player in the NFL. I remember watching his games just to see him play. His play style was first of its kind.

Hurts is just a modern day mobile QB. Mobile QB’s don’t typically last 10+ years . Plus Hurts has the personality of a brick wall, therefore no post-NFL career for him. If he manages to have a long streak of success, then maybe my outlook would change. But I don’t see it happening.

Hurts is a borderline starter. Vick was an athletic freak. He probably had the strongest arm in the NFL in addition to insane 4.3 speed. Vick was getting MVP consideration during his best year. Hurts would be lucky to even be considered as a pro bowl alternate

Hurts already was a pro bowl alternate selection, last season aka his first season as a starting QB in the NFL.

Hurts football IQ blows Vick's out of the water. Unlike Vick, Hurts is an actual leader and student of the game who actually understands it. Vick couldn't read a defense to save his life which is why he was a garbage passer almost his entire career despite having a strong arm.

Also, compare their first year starting. Very similar, except Hurts is more accurate.

Just can't stand when people act like Vick was a good QB, when in reality he was one of the worst passers in the league for most of his career. He was a RB playing QB, his IQ of the game was not existent. He literally relied on his athleticism as a runner and that's it. He was notorious for not studying and not watching game film, he openly admitted that to the media. He couldn't read a defense to save his life. He even said himself he'd probably haver a ring if he had actually studied.

Funniest part is Vick had his best season as a passer AFTER his prison sentence when he was with the Eagles, in 2010. That was far and away the best season of his career in 12 starts. Maybe because the league didn't have recent film on him, or maybe because he was hungry and actually studied game film for once? Idk, but he crashed back to earth in the seasons to follow and looked like himself again after that.

Hurts is still developing, but from what we've seen so far this season he has taken some nice strides in the passing department. Especially his ability to pass on the run. This is the first time since high school that he's had the same play caller for consecutive seasons, so one would assume he's getting comfortable finally and last nights great performance was a great sign.
