Does Eli deserve 1st ballot hof?

No his stats in the era he played in besides his 2 superbowl wins were subpar compared to other QBs of his era. 3 seasons of 30+ tds out of ~15 seasons.

For comparison.

Peyton - 9 seasons
Brees - 10 seasons
Brady - 9 seasons
Rodgers - 8 seasons
Rivers - 4 seasons (he might not be a hofer but was great in the regular season)

Objectively no, Eli is not a HOF caliber player.

think he deserves to be in the HoF due to his role in NFL history, being the only QB to beat Brady in the Owl twice and preventing the Pats from completing the 19-0 season etc.

don't think he should be a first ballot lock tho, we can debate til we're blue in the face about whether he belongs in the Hall, but he'll wind up there someday regardless
