I had friends, loved ones, sisters, brothers, my mom, my wife, coworkers, most every one I know was at that parade. I had to answer multiple texts from people telling them we were all okay. It was chaos. On a day that was supposed to be a celebration, we’re talking about gun shot wounds to KIDS. Children who got the day off from school still get shot up at a freaking Super Bowl parade. This country sickens me because I know they’ll be like man, it’s the Super Bowl parades that get people shot so then they’ll ban Super Bowl parades before we do anything about the guns. Everywhere you go in this country you need to have in the back of your mind where are the exit points. 22 people in Kansas City, my city, shot. A mother of a two year old who just wanted to celebrate her team winning the pinnacle of sports, did not wake up this morning. A child will never know her mother because of senseless and disgusting human beings that just wanted to hurt people. Sometimes I hate this country man. When Children’s Mercy said they were treating 9 children with GSW’s my heart broke. Instead of remembering this parade for the fun exciting thing that it was, the parade goers, the players, staff, every one involved now has to live with a traumatic experience about yesterday. My heart breaks for my city. It sucks because nothing will change. Nothing ever changes. Rant over.
Yeah, America's culture is fucked bud.
Rich poor gap going parabolic and a real shitty gun culture that isn't built around hunting game. Guns in America are purchased to be used on humans. They are purchased for "protection." Not sure how it ever gets fixed tbh.
Education and providing people with housing, food and mental health assistance. It's not really the guns per say, you can kill people with a van just as easily. It's the shit culture. The every man for himself attitude of society.
Sorry brah. America is a shithole. Most of the world is, for that matter. Try to find your own oasis and help who you can I guess.
