I think part of what allowed Ben to become so great is the freedom Dan gave him. The lions have known they’re losing him for a couple years now so thinking they have been grooming someone. If we need to go external to backfill—yeah I think we take a step back—but I think it will be someone like Engstrand. Losing Ben Johnson isn’t ideal but I think the development of the Gibbs, laporta, and Jamo officially having a year under their belt will more than offset. Jamo will have his very first preseason with the lions lol
