Michael Bennett is getting a raise from the Patriots before he even steps on the field.

According to ESPN's Field Yates, Bennett had his contract with the Patriots restructured. His two-year deal now has a base value of $16.75 million, including a $4 million signing bonus. Bennett gets guaranteed money and the Patriots get $700,000 in cap space this season, so it is sort of a win-win for both sides.

The Patriots still have plenty of needs to address on their roster, and at this point cap space shouldn't be an issue.

It's worth noting right after Bennett was traded to the Patriots he expressed a desire to get more money.
