Source says both steelers and G-men could make a play for Burress. Gmen seems odd, but that's the word.

I don't see the Giants making a play for Burress. At least not with Tom as head coach. Tom has already shown he has zero tolerance for trouble making players ex Shockey, Tiki fucking Barber, and Plaxico so it would be very very strange to see a play for Burress being made.

Now Steve Smith is a whole different story.. and I gotta agree I would love to see him back. Eli is a capable enough QB now where if we can give him a larger variety of weapons he will be armed and dangerous.

Regarding Jacobs, does anyone honestly think he will be a Giant next season?

I gotta say if he is, I will be surprised.

Not sure what to make of the bold?

Yes I thought Jacobs would be a Giant next season however I'm starting to highly doubt it since we want him to take a severe pay cut.

"Jacobs: Giants asking me to take significant pay cut"

Giants running back Brandon Jacobs confirmed today his representatives have spoken with the team about his future and that the organization is asking him to take a significant pay cut.

The seven-year veteran running back says he would consider one, though not a significant slashing of the $4.9 million he’s owed in the final season of his contract.

“I want to stay in New York a whole lot, man, because this is where I started,” Jacobs said in an interview with NBC-4’s Bruce Beck. “It’s a great organization. I got wonderful, great teammates. I won a second Super Bowl here with this organization.

“But I’m not willing to sell my soul, you know? It’s a great organization and I want to be a part of it, but if they’re not feeling the same way, then so be it.”

I'd rather us go after the OL, LB or BPA because I like Ballard I just think he's better suited as a backup TE or when we run 2 TE sets but who knows he has talent. He's like a Witten in body type & hands. Not fast but gets open & uses his body well.

We do need a TE of the future though. I just really want a stud for our O-line and a LB
