I still think it's too early to tell for Glennon, but you are right, the more I see him the more I feel comfortable with him.

It's a tricky situation because there's only 2 real options that can happen.

1 - We get a QB, setting us back another couple of years and build around him - who knows if any of our big contracts will be interested or not at that point.
2 - We get a beast of a DE, a pass rushing phreak that can finally give our D the stats that we are close to.

I think rounds 1-5 we either press hard for DE/LB/WR/WR or QB/WR/DE/WR/LB

With regards to Schiano, I want him back next year (barring a total lack of care from the players for the rest of the season)

Like it or not, we desperately needed exactly what Schiano has when we hired him - and we benefited from it. We were awesome last year when compared to the year before.
This year it's a mess, a clusterfuck and it's looking bad, but we have not been blown out of every game we lost this year. We've been damn close in 4 games and had the lead and blown it in 3 of them. I think that matters, it'd be different if every game was a blow out and our players had clearly quit. But every game I see plays get made that show me the team supports Schiano, and I do aswell. Plus his defense is my kinda thang.

They were so much fun to watch earlier in the year when they were blowing people up every game.

I wouldn't mind keeping Schiano one more year and seeing what he can do with this draft but I think he'll be fired.

No doubt about it that if we finish the season, keep Schiano, draft well and have a poor start next year then I absolutely agree with Fire Schiano - but there has to be a 3 year plan or we are just one of those teams that is forever rebuilding and never having the chance to build on a solid foundation

Falcons and Buccaneers tomorrow. I could give a shit if they have 3 wins combined between them and most of their star players are fucking injured I am looking forward to this game. Every time I've seen Atlanta play in Tampa they've given us a game so I'm hoping this year is like the rest, old fashioned-style football.

Bucs are only 1 point favorites so I'm hoping it is settled by like 3 points. That or they blow them out like 65 to nothing.

yea should definitely be a good game as it usually is just hope bucs don't win too many to put us out of the contention for a qb

That win was amazing, blowing out the Falcons was a long time coming.

Defense was amazing early and they Rainey was awesome, of course.

I am seriously wondering now; do they take a QB? Glennon's biggest asset, in my opinion, is that he doesn't turn the ball over. I feel like a solid defense and keeping turnovers to a minimum will keep the team in most games they play so they don't need stellar play at QB. I'd prefer a very good run game and a receiving corps capable of sustaining longer drives, it seems like that's what will beat the bigger teams in the league that operate on high power offenses (Denver, New Orleans, etc.)

Like I wondered earlier, I wonder if it would be better to pursue another quality pass rusher or another solid piece in the secondary. With the way they are playing I'd say they have no shot at the first pick and might even fall out of the top 3 or 4.

Very interested to see how they run the draft this year.

Okay, so, next week they play the Lions and I think they are overdue beating them. The last two games the Lions won a fairly close game and one of those games kept the Bucs out of the playoffs, so hopefully they can get some revenge. Lions probably looking for blood after that loss on the road to Pittsburgh.

Rainey gave me a 39 point game in 3 leagues B) Aww yeah

Glennon completed a Jameis Winston-like 20 passes of 23 attempts. No other quarterback this season, not Aaron Rodgers, not Tom Brady, not Drew Brees, not Manning have had a better statistical day with completion percentage.

Season is still ongoing, and the Falcons looked like the Jags yesterday, but thats a damn interesting point to consider.

I like Glennon and if this continues, then build around him and GO GET THOSE BEASTLY DEFENSIVE ENDS IN THE DRAFT!! We need to focus on 3 things imo :

1 - Defensive Ends. 1st 2 rounds hopefully, dedicate them to getting the players that can produce alongside THE REAL MCCOY
2 - WR depth. We have none, we have Vjax, injured Mike Williams, Tiquan Underwood, Timmy Wright and... er... Donald Penn.
3 - Linebacker. We need someone to play with Lavonte David speed and instinct. Imagine our front 7 with Larry / Kuechly / Sean Lee (for instance). Thats fucking scary

My buddy who watches College ball said this years draft is awesome for DE and Tackle, but weak at most of the other positions (if we don't look at QB) - Whats your opinion on the matter?

Still think we need a qb.... But I agree we need de's and wr depth for sure lb I don't really care about as much it could improve but this year that is our most dominant position and strongside lb is not nearly on the field enough to warrant a high draft pick.

As for the draft I would definitely say its got a lot of tackles as for D ends I would say no... The most notable 4-3 de is clowney and from there its more 3-4 de's and undersized de/3-4 olb hybrids which we won't take. So it is deep just not for our defensive scheme.

I'd be more than happy if they went for a premier WR in the first round, even if that meant trading down, and pursuing DE and maybe a TE in the latter rounds.

I can see them winning 2-3 more games this season, honestly. I really hope they win against the Niners and the Saints. Oh, Carolina as well. Yes, win those games.

Oh man that game FUCKING RULED!. Glennon styling with a 138 passer rating or some shit, no turnovers, taking away the ball left and right. Their biggest issues this game was running the ball (credit to the Lions' defensive line, shit's stacked), 3rd down defense, PENALTIES!!!!! and of course the shitting kicking game, which will be resolved next year when Barth returns and is forbidden to play hoops.

Met a real chill Panthers fan at the bar today and am looking forward to what I hope will be a bloodbath next week in Charlotte. Mouth is watering at the prospect of ending $cam Newton's streak lol. We'll be getting Dashon back, too, so hopefully our defense will hit as hard as Carolina's (doubtful, those fuckers can play).

Here's to running the table and making it in as a wild card!
