id take bennett and thats it

and support

If the organization decides they won't want Barr/Clowney, I would support trading back to attempt to get a WR at a more reasonable spot and picking up another 2nd/3rd round pick.

Bennett is good. I would not be horribly opposed to taking him, but I still feel as though he'd be reaching the end of his prime just as we're hitting ours.

If we trade back, I would be okay with WR/OT/G/CB.

If Matthews is available I want him. Top OT. If not, Bridgewater wouldn't be bad. If they're both taken, Barr or Clowney or trade. No other players are worth our pick IMO. If we don't go Bridgewater, we can still snag a QB round 2--or not. I'd be fine with going OT -> CB/RB/WR -> CB/RB/WR/G. If we retain Valdheer and get Matthews, we have two stud tackles, and that's enough to anchor our line IMO. If Hayden improves, our secondary gets a LOT better--remember, Branch returns, Woodson returns...those are two reasonably good safeties, even with Woodson's age. Our DL and LB are at least solid...DL could use another pass rusher but we aren't in dire need. On offense, if we shore up our line we look pretty good with Jennings who was a stud last year. WR is still an issue, and QB could be a problem, but if we solve OT + RB (short term) + TE, we're well on our way to having a team where we can accurately evaluate how good a young QB is.

yea going Matthews wouldnt be a bad idea at all, if we do i wouldnt be mad. hopefully he turns out to be a beast like he should be if we go that route, him + veldheer would be sweet. ive seen a couple MOCK drafts that have us taking Barr, but idk how i feel about getting a LB, just dont know..not saying he isnt going to be good just idk if i want a lb with our #1. idk about getting a qb either. i think id like to go matthews, clowney, watkins, barr. think watkins can be a big time player in the nfl for a while and thats def something we lack, big time play maker. Also i forget the kids name, big white kid from michigan the LT hes a stud also.

Also i hope we spend our money right this year in FA and really help improve the team with some solid players with some experience. they just have to want to be willing to come and play in oakland. we also have 4 FA's in the this top 100 2014 FA's list i was reading. think we need to sign all 4 of them plus a few others. def gota keep veldheer+houston+woodson+jennings+jenkins+porter. let mcfadden, ford, barnes (so fuckin tired of this guy sticking around year after year, hes not that good and is a penalty flag magnet!!) phillip adams can go also. could keep usama young for depth

Oakland Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie has made it clear he wants a playmaker, possibly with the No. 5 overall draft pick.

Apparently, our ESPN draft experts, Mel Kiper and Todd McShay , have listened and agree. In their latest mock drafts, Kiper has the Raiders selecting Clemson receiver Sammy Watkins, who was also his pick for Oakland in his first mock draft, while McShay sees Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel going to the Raiders. McShay had the Raiders taking Central Florida QB Blake Bortles in his first mock draft, when Oakland was in position to select third overall.

No doubt Watkins and Manziel are playmakers, and Kiper hedged his bet a bit.

“I think taking a QB is certainly in play here,” Kiper wrote, “but if the board breaks this way, the Raiders also could look to take the best wide receiver in the draft with Watkins, an electrifying talent who can make any QB look better with his blend of competitive pass-catching and exceptional running skills with the ball in his hands.”

McShay, meanwhile, said the Raiders need to upgrade at quarterback from Terrelle Pryor and Matt McGloin, which is understood, even if, as McShay points out, he has a “late-first-round grade” on Manziel.

McShay: “The NFL evaluators who have concerns about Manziel focus on his on- and off-field decision-making and lack of size (not his height, but whether his small frame can hold up over 16-game seasons, given his style of play), but the ones who love him focus on his special improvisational skills, creativity and running ability.”

If both players were still on the board, whom would you take?

IF it came down to manziel or watkins i say the wr. not really confident in taking a qb especially one as little as manziel with our oline. plus im still sold on the 2 qbs we have and say we need to brg them some better weapons and blocking

I say Watkins. But that also depends on who else is left on the board. We have so many holes to fill on our team that really taking the BEST available player possible, despite their position, would probably be a good pick for us. IF Watkins turns into the great WR that he has the potential to be and hes like Megatron or AJ Green, I would be real happy. We havent had a real legit PLAYMAKER in a long time. Mcfadden was supposed to be that but we all know his situation, cant stay healthy and is going to be gone for this season anyways.

We really need this draft to be good and hit on all our players we select. That and spend this FA money the right way. I really hope we have a lot better team than we did last year. Even if we don't make the playoffs which would be hard for any team to do that has been through what the Raiders have been through lately. As long as we see some solid improvement in all phases of the game and maybe a 7-9 record and shoot for playoffs the following year, I will be happy. But we have a real tough schedule this year so we will see how it plays out, right now the odds are against us like usual.

If that happens and we improve a lot, then we need the keep the coaching staff around along with RM. If we are real close to a wild card spot with 7-9 or 8-8 but dont get in, it wont be fare for everyone to bag on DA and RM again and say how its time for them to go cus we missed the playoffs again. They should stick around if we have a good season without playoffs. If its another 4-12 (which looking at the schedule as of now looks to be heading in that direction) then get rid of them.

I know i said a lot in response to your question but i love talking about the Raiders lol.

its also gonna be damn there impossible to pull a playoff spot out of our division. our bet bet would be a wildcard slot. thats 6 games vs playoff teams right there chiefs broncos chargers (even tho i say the chiefs r overrated they r still a better team than us)
