Genuinely curious to hear how you all feel about McCarthy at this point. The announcers always rave about him as a coach and play caller, but the results just aren't there for long portions of games.
Try to give it a little more substance than just fire him or keep him.
Also...if you ever need a first down vs. the packers, just throw across the middle at any point near or beyond the first down marker.

That's been the case over the last few seasons... honestly dates back to when we lost Collins and Woodson. Teams were much more afraid of the middle due to the ballhawk nature of those two legends.
As far as MM, there is little to no benefit to firing him now. Team has a lot of issues that seem deeper than the head coach, but I would agree that it's probably time for a change. HUGE offseason coming up as far as retaining players so it might be time for a little overhaul.

I'm not even looking at the end-game (playoffs) like I usually am this time of year. I've shifted to bottom-feeder fan status and am just trying to enjoy each remaining game for what it is. I have very little faith in this year's team left in me.
I could see this roster getting blown up, tbh. I think Peppers is done after this year. Shields *should* be done. I think Clay sucks ass for what we pay him, and I am indifferent as to whether or not he is around much longer. Perry, Datone, Hyde... all key contributors that are FA nexy year iirc. Can't imagine they all come back. Lacy hasn't earned jack, so what are we willing to pay him? Does Cook deserve and want another 1-year prove-it deal? And Jordy's getting long in the tooth...

People seem to forget that MM isn't easily replaced. Who's available that is going to come in and immediately succeed? An argument could be made that having Favre and Rodgers jacked this up, but he's very high on the all time wins list already and just outside the top 10 in win%.
Gut the strength and conditioning team and bring a new program in there. Completely behind that.
As far as the rest of the staff though, I don't know that I like the idea of blowing up the coaching staff this late into Rodgers' career. He'll be 33 this year, and as a guy that relies on arm strength over mechanics, he doesn't have a lot of elite time left to wait for a new staff to put together their roster. We know how good this team is when healthy, they just never are. Fix the injury issue and a lot of the other problems go away.

Oh I agree with MM not being easily replaced. Definitely earned his right to ride through rough waters for a bit, but most of these issues we see are deeper than the talent on the roster. Consistent issues that have been present for long over a year now. New issues that have developed just makes the already present holes in the team that much more obvious to those who aren't watching every game.
The bolded is only somewhat true, sadly. First few games of the season proved that. Now the secondary is so exposed due to injuries and without Clay, the pass rush just isn't what it used to be. Dix getting shrugged off of a sack because we have to blitz corners and safeties just to generate decent pressure. Gutting the staff and expecting better results is such an overreaction, but if we only have a few years left with Rodgers as a top QB, shouldn't we start making the necessary changes to get this team back into the Super Bowl? Or are you content with waiting it out and seeing the same issues arise year after year? I've been of the same mind as you up until a certain point where I just don't see enough headway being made to actually get this team back into contention

What necessary changes? If you mean digging into FA to grab the big name guys, that isn't going to happen as long as TT is around. As far as I'm concerned, AR is already running the offense just as much as MM to switching up OC wouldn't really do a whole lot in my opinion. I think we need to draft a legit #1 WR to shadow and eventually replace Jordy. We also need to consider letting a few other WRs go to bring more speed into our receiving corps. In my opinion, the best performing group right now is our defensive front. After years they are finally controlling the run (more or less), but our secondary is just so weak from injuries and young players.
There's a ton to fix and there's no perfect recipe to cook up a Super Bowl team.

1) Obviously not. In my lifetime, 3 players have been acquired from FA that meant anything: White, Howard and Woodson. Not even sure why you brought that up as even a bandwagon fan knows that isn't even remotely an option.
2) History would also prove you wrong here as well. GB has always found great value in WRs after Day 1. Literally our entire roster, for example. Won't happen and I'm glad. Much more pressing needs and at this rate, the pick we'll be getting won't be good enough to land a "legit #1 WR".
3) Speed =/= separation. Definitely helps, but just because a guy is a burner, doesn't mean he can handle switching to the West Coast Offense and be able to make plays after the catch.
4) Of course the front 7 is performing the best... it's the only area not marred with injuries... LOL. Not having Clay shows how truly inconsistent the pass rush is with those guys. Yeah, the run was somewhat held in check, but they can't get off the field and the pressure in the pocket just isn't there unless Capers dials up the blitz, which you saw how that turned out majority of the time when Luck had a quick release or a tackle was missed.
I'm playing devil's advocate here, Wags. I'm not calling for anyone's head, but how many years can we watch the same shitshow over and over again? The necessary changes I was referring to are strictly from the inside out. Switch things up as far as packages go. Stop dialing in the blitz in the second half when no one is left to cover the top, stop throwing deep passes on 3rd and manageable, keep up the creativity on offense with the playcalling, and focus on special teams/red zone offense. Those last two are the biggest. Every game GB lost this season can be attributed partially, if not fully due to those last two things. Field goals instead of touchdowns. This is over 3 seasons of those same woes
