Welp, thats officially it, no playoffs this year. Time for the annual tear down//rebuild for next year to begin.

Romo is obviously staying but back up QB has to be a priority for the Cowboys. Nothing is set in stone but knowing Jerry there is a pretty good chance he's going to make a move for Manziel especially if the Browns decide to go through with the divorce. Jury is out on that. We do still have Jameill Showers on the practice squad and he looked pretty good in the preseason, curious to see how he's developed. If nothing else, if there is one there I would consider going QB with the 1st pick because its the universal need in the NFL and Romo isn't getting any younger.

I'm pleased to say that Mcfadden has turned out just the way I thought he would. We might look in the later rounds for some fresh legs but I'm pretty satisfied with how Mcfadden and Turbin has played this year. Also curious to see if Lance Dunbar is back next season

We could use some help at WR as we got pretty thin when Dez was out. I was a big fan of Terrence Williams but he didn't have a great season. We might want to invest some draft picks here

TE we're good for now, retain what we have

OL Starters are set, we need to build some dept which could be acquired through selective free agents or late round picks

DL, I have mixed feelings about Greg Hardy. Dude can play football but he also can be a locker room cancer. I love how he plays hard and does have the ability to make plays but I don't like the drama thats associated with him, I guess we'll see how it plays out. Disappointed that Randy Gregory got injured early on and never really got back to form because that kid looked great in the first half of the Giants game before he got hurt and looked great in the pre season. Demarcus Lawrence is going to break out next year if not at the end of this season. I do think we need to invest a high round pick in the interior line especially at the 3 technique and perhaps the 1. We need somebody that will COMMAND a double team and free up others to make plays.

LB Again, we have a decent starting set but we need to invest a high pick here for dept and possible upgrades. They have been trying to get an impact backer for the last couple of years but the draft hasn't been kind enough.

CB. I would look for substantial upgrading here to take place in the draft. I've heard this is going to be one of the deepest in a while at CB talent so we might be able to get a decent one or 2 mid to late round. Bottom line is Brandon Carr is over paid and I'm not sure if we're going to retain Mo Claiborne. I think we'll end up with one of these 2 returning but we shouldn't keep both. Getting a healthy Scandrick back will help too. Byron Jones has also done well when asked to fill in but its looking like he's going to play saftey.

Saftey. Putting Byron Jones here has cured a lot of woes, but he might be needed to shore up the CB spot. JJ Wilcox and Barry Church have frankly not been good and shouldn't be starting. Might be another spot to look at investing a high round pick.

Anyways let the off season begin.

I'm very happy we're not making a big splash in FA this year. Seems like the front office has finally figured out how to put a solid team together without overspending.

It looks like they've learned their lessons from the past and bad big contracts.

I think alfred morris would be a great addition to the backfield.

All the mocks seem to have us taking Myles Jack or Bosa with the 4th pick, I'm ok with either but I would prefer Bosa. We might be able to pickup Paxton Lynch in the 2nd round which would be a good thing for both parties, he has the most upside to all the other QB's in the draft and we have a situation where he could come in and develop.

Re-signed Dunbar to a 1 year deal. Glad to have him around, I've always liked him. Hopefully he'll stay healthy and be able to contribute this year.

So we picked up Morris..with him, dmac, and Dunbar, we should have one hell of a three headed monster in the backfield.

I think I read Morris hasn't missed a game, or maybe one game, in his career.
