Doesn't matter who the assualt is against, the state can proceed with any charge if dropped by another party. Could just be a power hungry SA trying to become a big shot by pursuing actions against Rice.

Definitely sounds like the SA is pushing for this, after learning about them getting married, that way the SA can't force her to testify against him in the matter, which pretty much trashes the whole case, unless there is actual video of him hitting her.

Which if there was we probably would have seen it by now. I guess this all depends on other witnesses

Hopefully it results in nothing serious.
